Bachelor Degree

In the early 80s, if students were to obtain a bachelor degree in any discipline, they could have gotten a good job in computer science or some kind of data processing. Math majors were given excellent computer jobs. Nowadays, computer science majors are opposed to unemployment lines because of the severe competition. Those persons who do not have a degree in computer science can’t get into the industry.

There are many people who enter college and receive a bachelor degree in order to benefit in gaining financial assistance. Affirmative Action has simplified it for minorities to obtain a bachelor degree from an accredited institution. This grows competition not just for jobs after graduating college but for scholarships to enter a college. Graduates are no longer secured a full scholarship.

Since it is more difficult to find entry level jobs, the payment for such jobs has become lower if you consider in inflation and price of living grows.

Another way of this is the fact that students have to further their education even more to advance; the average price for an education has risen rapidly. Universities realize that a bachelor degree is not a priority anymore.
